Smash the System is a political comedy show that covers current events, with a lot of rage. Amanda and Marcela have a lot of rage about the state of America’s democracy. Yes, they could march, tweet or even call their congress person but they tried that and it clearly didn’t work. What they really want to do is yell about everything that makes them angry and they want you to join them in their rage against the machine, where we can all boo and scream at all the faces of oppression. Amanda and Marcela will be joined by other funny people who also want to boo and scream at faces of oppression.

The only way to tackle some issues is head on, and we are here for this night of comedy and bravery.
ABOUT THE SHOW - FROM THE PRODUCER
Join us for a night of storytelling, catharsis and laughter as comedians who identify as survivors of sexual assault, harassment and, in one case, a lawsuit for speaking out against an alleged rapist, share their experiences and change the narrative of how we joke about rape.
Sexual assault is everywhere, and the comedy community is by no means an exception. With a new industry predator revealed seemingly every month, we think it’s time for a new kind of rape joke.
Hear us and laugh until you cry, or cry until you laugh, but either way…hear us.
**The show will be filmed as part of a larger documentary project “Rape Jokes by Survivors.”
Please note this is a mixed seated and standing venue. Please arrive early for the best seats.

Living For It is a monthly comedy benefit show hosted by comedians Kendall Farrell, George Civeris and Anya Volz! Each month we raise money for a different great cause with a lineup of the best comedians in New York City.
This month the proceeds will benefit UpRose Bk, Brooklyn's oldest Latino community-based organization. An intergenerational, multi-racial, nationally recognized community organization, UPROSE promotes sustainability and resiliency in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood through community organizing, education, indigenous and youth leadership development, and cultural/artistic expression.
